I became a Daily Painter in 2015.
I started The Daily Cat series in 2018. Paintings for sale are all ORIGINALS, not prints. All the Daily Cats are painted with brush and India ink and no two paintings are the same. The Daily Cats are numbered in the order they were painted, all are titled, dated and signed on the back.
Cats are a lot like ink and water. The ink flows like a cat, fades and advances and has its own will. Controlling the ink and water can be likened to herding cats, both with tendencies to move as they like and not as directed.
I paint lots of topics. Most of my work is in watercolor but I also use pastels and oils. I teach adult watercolor classes, focusing on best practices and basic watercolor technique. I will begin the study of Botanical Illustration at the School of the Denver Botanical Garden in the Summer of 2020, a two year program.
I was born in 1952 and my professional experience is varied. I spent many years as a registered architect. I owned a sewing business in Troy New York until 2017. Now I spend most of my creative time painting. I also knit a lot. I live in Troy, NY, with my husband Ted Krueger and Buck the Cat.
